Hi Cindy,
I know it's been a long time, but I just wanted to thank you for rescuing me and finding me a new mommy and daddy. I was adopted by them in the beginning of January 2000. They didn't think the name, #580, quite fit my personality, so they started calling me Dharma. It was a little confusing at first, but I got used to the new name. I was all skin and bones when they took me home, but I am very healthy and happy now. I have a new little brother named Buster who follows me around everywhere I go! Mommy and Daddy got him when he was a puppy and made me babysit him every minute of the day! Well, that's ok because he kinda grows on you. Here's a picture of us playing at the beach in Santa Barbara. I'm teaching him how to chase birds that we'll never catch! Oh, and see that thing in Buster's mouth? Uh, that would be my leash!
Say Hi to everyone for me. Thank you again and happy holidays!

Hi Cindy,
Here is a picture of Kaylie. She loves to sit in front of the fire place. I couldn't ask for a better dog. My son and her go to the park and she is so wonderful with him. She never pulls on the lease and she doesn't go chasing after people or other dogs. Kaylie is doing good with my 8 month old son as well. She is so gentle with him. She plays with one of my cats and knows to leave the other one alone. ;o) I am very happy with how well this young pup is doing. Thank you very much.

Hi Cindy,
I adopted Crystal, Tag # 899, about a month ago and wanted to let you know how well we are doing. She is about the happiest, and most playful dog that I have ever had. She loves everybody (wonderful with kids) and really wants to please everyone. And very smart, too. We have been going to obedience classes and she has really progressed. She now knows how to heel, sit, down, stay, wait, and come. She is learning to play with other dogs. When I got her, she was coming on too strong (wanting to play) and the other dog wouldn't know how to react. My son's Aussie turned and barked at her once, Crystal went to the ground, submissively, and then they played for 3 hours (becoming very good buddies). My other son's dog is very submissive herself - so we have to work on that relationship.
My mother is in a convalescent hospital and I have been taking Crystal a couple of times a week ever since I got her. She isn't bothered by the wheelchairs, walkers, moving beds, carts, etc. She goes right up to all the patients and lets them pet her. She wags her tail the whole time she's there. Because she is so good and happy at the hospital, I am thinking of looking in to what it would take for her to become a certified therapy dog. I want you to know that she is an absolute joy and I can't thank you enough for putting us together. I will keep in contact with you and let you know how we are doing.

Cindy and BABR,
First we would like to thank you for Dustonovich Doestivetski (known by most as Dusty)--he also answers to Dust Mite. We adopted him in January of 2000 at the PetSmart adoption fair in Milpitas. This dog is just incredible! He literally smiles. His eyes are the softest, most kindest shade of brown. And, he just loves everyone. He has become the neighborhood dog. The neighbors on each side come by at least twice a week just to say hello. Dusty is an Akita mix that was playing with the Boxers the day we visited PetSmart.
He is extremely intelligent, and wants to be treated like a member of the family. His favorite game is hide and seek..and seek and seek and seek. My husband throws the ball/Kong/rawhide/stick etc...and hides when Dusty goes to get it. Dusty spends the next five minutes searching the house for my husband. Of course upon finding him the game begins anew. After moving in to our new home, we built a gated "bathroom" for him outside--white picket fence outlined by pink and white roses. My husband did not have time to put the door on the "break" space right away. Dusty learned to go there on command within one week, and, we never needed to build the door. My husband and Dusty both seemed satisfied...my husbands lawn stays in tact and Dusty has his own bathroom.
He enjoys his walks every morning and evening. To keep it interesting, we walk different routes. When he sees children, cats, opossums, dogs, people, birds etc...he pulls on the leash so he can investigate. He wants to determine if he's found a new playmate. Dusty loves car rides and new places. Dusty's best friend is a Lab mix owned by my sister. What a joy to watch them play.
Again, thank you for providing us with such a wonderful addition to our household. I've attached two pictures of Dusty for you.

Hi Cindy,
I just wanted to drop you a note and "Thank You" for getting "Duke" and our family together through your organization. When we got Duke he didn't have a name because nobody knew anything about his past. He knew his name within 2 days and is by far the smartest dog I have ever known. He now sleeps on our floor with a blanket and a pillow (yes he is very spoiled). He loves my husband and when he leaves for the morning, he runs around the house looking for him. He also loves the kids very much and is very tolerant of anything they do to him. He loves to chase the ball and is very good at bringing it back.
I have never met (or any of my friends) a more calm dog that behaves so well. We took him camping the first week we had him and never once had a problem with him. He loves to ride in our car and often goes with us wood cutting. The cat and him havn't quite made nice yet, but they can at least be in the same room and not kill each other. Once again, thanks for you and your organization. You have made our small family very happy to have a dog that our kids can grow up with.

Dear Cindy and Tim,
Enclosed are several pictures of Charlotte. She is one happy puppy and is to graduate from obedience classes next week. She loves to "camp" in the motorhome as you can see, and she has bonded closely with Vincent, my 4 year old male boxer. They romp and play and her sweet personality has dragged him out of the funk he was in when he lost his 2 best friends this summer.
Thanks again for the work you do.

Hi Cindy and BABR,
Stella was adopted from BABR in May of 1998. Actually she was supposed to be a foster but we fell in love. Without the attention of Cindy and Dr. Mundh, Stella would not have made it, as she was significantly underweight and had almost no hair due to severe demodex. Plus as it turned out she had heartworms.
Because she was so thin, we let her sleep on the sofa, but of course once a boxer learns the sofa is her bed, you cannot convince her otherwise. So that is where she sleeps to this day.
She was and is a real sweetheart, though. She had her 9th birthday in July and people still ask if she is a puppy because she is so frisky when she is out on her walks. She is friendly and loved by all the neighborhood.
Thought it was time for an update. Enclosed photo shows her on her 'throne'.

Hi Cindy,
Its been a long time but we are reminded daily of our luck! Brutus as you can see is a huge part of our family and has been for 2+ years now.
We love him more than any dog we have ever owned! He wakes us up each morning with a song and dance of howling and jumping! We start our day by taking the kids to school which he leads of course! He waits by the door looking up with those beautiful eyes hoping that its Monday!
Not only do we love him but anyone who comes into contact falls in love. My Mother doesn't really care for pets but Brutus is the one and only who stays with Grandma sometimes. We recently went on vacation and my friend let me know he would have to sleep outside!!! Total shock since he is used to cuddling with the kids and having his own blanket! When we got home she said she couldn't do it and he slept with her children. Thats our Brutus!!!! A heart warmer!
Thanks so much for doing what you do and for our boy!

Cindy and Elodia,
Thank you both so much for your help in our adoption of Zoe (your tag #766/Blackie). She is a very busy little girl and she keeps us entertained at all times! She and her boxer brother, Tyson, hit it off immediately and are now inseperable. They are both the best of friends and partners in crime :-) Anyway, we just wanted to let you know that we love her very much and that all is well.
Thanks Again BABR,
The Johnsons

Here's a little online photo album of Chango that I put together ... I adopted him in July of 1999 (July 5th I think) so this is sort of an anniversary thing :) You called him "Tyson" then. He's happy as a clam, doing EXCELLENTLY, and looking forward to an English Bulldog brother or sister in the near future :)

Hi Cindy,
Thought I'd give you an update on Tag 814 (now called Missy and sometimes Muppy).
She and our other Boxer (Ladybug) have adjusted to each other very well. Missy is quite the speedster. She loves water and keeps our family cat up on the fence.
She reminds me of a superball, always moving and changing directions at a moments notice. She has started obedience training and is learning to heel.
I'm so glad we found her through your service.
Regards

Rocky has fit in to our home like he's always been here as one of the family.
In the first week, he had been to my six years old's kindergarten class for show and tell so B.A.B.R. got a good plug. Rocky goes every day to take the kids to school and pick them up.
He is so gentle and sweet. He and my six year old are inseparable. Where she is so is he. Before he will go to sleep at night, he makes the rounds to see that all the kids are in bed and safe until they are he will sit beside them.
THANKS for such a good dog.

Hi Cindy,
We've been meaning to write to tell you how grateful we are that you brought Woodrow (Whiskers) home from Modesto. She has turned out to be an absolutely wonderful friend and companion for Augustus and ourselves as well. Both she and Augustus are in incredible condition from the non-stop play and are inseparable. She is a very loving dog although, as you can see from the picture, she is still a bit tense. You can find her in that position every night.
Thank you so much,
Sincerely,
Walker & Mary West
Rasha - 2001
Hi Cindy,
Just wanted to say, "THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!" for our precious puppy, tag# 771. We are so happy that she survived the parvo and worms. She has gotten much bigger than the photo you have on the website.
We have named her Rasha and she gets her final set of shots on Wednesday. She and her sister Sierra get along great. She is a doll.
Thought you might enjoy seeing some updated photos of her to see that she is doing great and is healthy.
Hope all is going well! Thanks again!

Thank you so much!!!!!
We are so happy we chose to adopt him.
He's obviously been trained by someone before, he sits, lays down, shakes paws and understands leave it, come, and no.
He was an angel yesterday and all evening. I just wanted to write you and thank you again!

He is a great dog! We have renamed him Max, and he is responding to it already.
The first day he got into some mischief by knocking over the garbage cans and getting into some potting soil, other than that he has been great! He is really starting to adapt to his new home. He is not eating much though, we are putting out the plate for him twice a day but he does not really eat much from it. Probably about 3 cups total of food per day.
Thank you for bringing Max to BABR.

Hi Cindy,
It's Gina, Tiger's new mom. I just wanted to let you know how everything is going here..Tiger has been great! He's such a big sweetie. He's been really, really good with the kids and they love him. You know how big he is and he is so good on the leash..he hardly pulls at all, almost never, so the kids are leading him around. You should see it, my 5 year old little girl walking around this 80lb dog who is twice her size. Dont worry, i'm right there to supervise. Its pretty cool watching them. He's very gentle with them. He seemed kind of sad the first couple of days here (understandably). He didnt wag his tail much just seemed kind of indifferent. But he's getting more comfortable and is starting to act happy and playful & greet us with wags and kisses. God, what big slobbery kisses!
He chose the couch as kind of a safe place to go when Roxy (our boxer girl) tries to show him who's boss. He's so funny, he jumps up there and burys his head in the cushions. Well now the couch has turned into Roxy & Tiger's little wrestling/play area and it's so fun watching them i haven't been able to bring myself to try and scold them for it. I think he knows he's getting one over on us though with the whole couch thing. He may look like a big sweet lug but he's smart! And so handsome. I took him on a walk yesterday and got comments on how beautiful he is. Brian took him running and is thrilled he has a great running partner. He did have an accident in the house last nite but i guess i should have let him out right before bed time-so we'll try that and see how it goes. Anyway, thank you for everything. Tim (foster parent) was really nice and helpful too. I'll be sending some pictures soon.
Thanks,
Gina H.

Hi,
I just wanted to say thanks to Cindy and Elodia for helping me through my adoption of Willow. This would be the cute lil white boxer. We have renamed her Maizy and she is responding very well. She came to us with some bad scabs on her head, but with a little neosporin and cleaning she is healing up great. She does have some bad habits, but in time we believe she will break them. We really love having her in our family. She is very cuddly and the best friend we could have chosen for our male boxer.
You will be surprised to find out that her second new friend is a female. We slowly introduced them, and they play very well. The female friend is also a recent boxer from you named Sammy. Thanks again! We hope to see more people giving rescued boxers a second or third chance.
