Nesta, 2000
Hi Cindy,
At the end of December 2000, we adopted Rock (now Nesta after the Honorable Robert Nesta Marley) from you. His tag number is 758. In the beginning he was a little wary of people. We think because he was left alone outside by his previous owners and was not given enough attention. He now loves the company of people and does his wiggle dance every time visitors come over to our house.
He is very obedient, well mannered, and is inseparable from his play mate - a female Rott mix. We think they are in love! When we first got him, he had really bad skin and fur conditions due to fleas and ticks. He has fully recovered now and has a beautiful coat. We take him to hikes to the ocean and he gets looks from everyone since he is such a good looking boy. Thanks so much for adopting him out to us!!!

Tara and Gaurav

Robie, 2000
Hi BABR,
I just wanted to drop a quick note to say how much joy and happiness the "pup" I adopted from BABR has brought our family. Since my place didn't have a yard and my father was alone after my mother passed away, I decided to adopt a dog for him.
I was so glad I ran across your organization on the web and found "Robie" (a female) German Shepherd/Bull Terrier mix(?) at eight weeks. She has grown into (75lbs) an AWESOME, well behaved pooch that brings us joy. Thank you again for your efforts to rescue these great companions Here's photo's of her at 1) 8 mos, and 2) today.
Regards,
Valerie Z

Bugsy, 2000
Cindy,
Attached is a picture of me & Bugsy. Bugsy's the one trying to wash my face for me.
The second is of Jake (top) & Bugsy. They weren't sure about each other at first, but now they are inseperable.
Thanks so much for your quick response to my initial phone call & also for working around our crazy schedule during the thanksgiving season. It's only been a few days & we don't know how we could live without him.

Merlin, 2000
Cindy,
I adopted this cute little guy on October 7, 2000. We've named him Merlin.
He is a boxer/lab mix, but looks all brindle boxer. He actually had parvo a week before we adopted him, but he has fully recovered. We took him to the vet and he couldn't believe this healthy pup ever had any disease!
Love this little guy!
Thanks BABR!
Nita

Lola, 2000
We adopted Lola, an 8 month old female about 3 months ago. Prior to being rescued, Lola had been starved and had Mange pretty bad. During the first week she (and us as well) was very cautious of her new surroundings. She was housebroken in two days and by the end of her first week she showed us how happy she was by eating a lot and racing through the house at high speeds. She is a very silly and happy boxer. Her favorite things are stuffed animals, going to the dog park, riding in the car, playing in water, meeting new people, and cats (although they don't care for her much!). But the main reason we cherish our new arrival is for the wonderful friend and companion she is.

Duchess, 2000
Duchess is the star of our lives. How do we thank you for giving us this joy. She is a very bright and loving puppy. She is so gentle with my day care babies and they never want to got home. They all want to stay and live with Duchess. She is in puppy kindergarden and the star of the show. She is doing well with her sit, come, stay commands. She potty trained in about 3 weeks. I cannot express into words the joy and happiness she has brought into our lives. Every morning we look forward to seeing her, she wakes up the little man of the house with lick kisses every morning. She knows that is her job and waits at his door until she hears the "go lick" command. She is truly the best thing that has ever happened to us.
Thank you again at the rescue league for putting your faith in us,
Duchess's Mom, Dad and Brother

Dear Cindy and Staff,
We adopted our little one last September and as you can see she has grown some. Duchess is a real sweetie and loves everyone.
She is a fast learner and very much a family dog. She is very good with all our Day Care kids and loves them like her own. Her favorite times is sitting by her pal Michael and playing Nintendo with him. The only times she really gets annoyed is when Barney is on the T.V. . He is not one of her favorite characters.
We can not thank you enough for bringing her into our lives. She has brought many happy and comical moments. From true believers that you at the rescue association are real saints.

Zephyr, 2000
We rescued Mr. No Name on January 28th. When I met him I thought there was not much sign of "Boxer" in him. There was no famous "Boxer dance," no wiggly tail, his eyes weren't bright and happy, his coat was very coarse and dull, he had demodex, and he didn't even have a name. I thought he was a pretty sad site. Within one week of his arrival, we started to see a little perkiness. Since then, we have witnessed a complete transformation.
He is now Zephyr and when he meets people, which he loves to do, they are always amazed that he has not always lived with us. Zephyr's coat is beautiful, his eyes are bright, he is very happy, he loves to cuddle up with anyone of the 4 people in the family and boy does he dance and wiggle! I have had people come up to me and tell me how beautiful and friendly he is, toddlers at the park have fed him out of their hands and visited with him, he has gone downtown and visited with people in front of the coffee shop that I frequent and he loves every minute of it! He is a mere shadow of his former self. I am very proud of Zephyr!
I am so glad that we were able to provide a home for our boy and thrilled that he has responded by giving us so much love. I am thankful he somehow ended up in your hands and was given a second chance with us. He is a wonderful addition to our family.

Molly, 2000
Thought that a picture of one of the recent adoptees Molly with her loving kids (and believe me it goes both ways) All of Molly's health conditions are taken care of almost. She is very active and energetic and it is a true love affair for our entire family but especially between her and our two children. We couldn't have asked for a better match or pet .
Thank you Boxer rescue and keep up the good work!

Crystal, 2000
Hello,
Enclosed is a picture I took today of Crystal. I was traveling with a friend of mine for the last 6 months when we stopped for a few weeks at some friends in Santa Rosa. While there we were on line and seen your boxer rescue operation. We came out and talked with Cindy who showed us the boxers that were available. My friend decided on a boxer named "Precious" (tag id 528). We picked her up on October 23, 1999. She traveled with us from Santa Rosa south to Vegas, Utah, Grand Canyon, Arizona, New Mexico, and to Texas/Mexico. We spent a couple months there. On to Florida and then north back home to Michigan. We have been home now for a couple of weeks. Crystal had a great time on the trip...making many friends along the way. Other than not being able to put on weight and having a touchy stomach, she is a terrific companion. Training has gone very well as she understands several commands. The enclosed picture is one I took today. She loves to have her picture taken and loves to be the center of attention.
Best wishes with your effort...
Rick and Norm
Charley, 2000
Hi again Cindy,
If you want to post our story, I have to tell you all the neat things this dog does. First, we named him Charles..but we call him Charley in remembrace of our fawn boxer Harley. Since the first night home we could tell Charles was a member of the family. He won't go to bed until every one is safely tucked in ... including my husband and I. He checks on each of the kids every night before he goes to bed and gives each of them a quick lick on the face. He always HAS to be wherever we are, and he always wants everyone accounted for. He can fetch the ball already, but he hates going potty when it's raining (and we have had a lot of rain lately). We're practicing on stay and come commands, he listens but...he wants to explore too. My husband takes him for a walk everyday and Charles just loves it. As soon as the garage door opens Charles is right there, and when the door to the van opens...well, Charles is in before anyone else, sometimes we take him along just because we can't bare the thought of leaving him home.
Charles has helped heal the pain of losing Harley, although we still talk about her a lot and miss her dearly, we love Charles with all our hearts. He is the most loving, sweet, obedient, and protective dog. We are so thankful to have him in our family!!! I can't say thank you enough for allowing us to become his new family!!
Thanks,
Wendy
Hi Cindy,
Well I just wanted to give you an update on Charley ... we are the crazy family that drove 5 1/2 hours to "look" at a boxer. In case you may not remember...we got the flashy brindle male...#902 or #903...can't remember which tag # he was. I just wanted you to know how awesome he is.....he has become such a great addition to our family. In fact, we took him to Petco on Saturday and had his portraits taken...he did so well. We'll have to be sure and send you one. He loves to play with his squeak toy, his Kong toy, and our shoes...hahaha. He is definitely an indoor dog. He doesn't care to be outside at all!! He has made any attempts to jump the fence, but we are prepared nonetheless. No potty accidents at all, overall he is really a sweet boy. I'm so glad we made the drive up there, it was well worth it!! Thank you for rescuing him...if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have him.
Talk soon,
Wendy
