Volunteer/Donate

There are many ways you can help us by volunteering or donating, and we have listed them here for your consideration.

Cash Donations

Expenses are very high at BABR, so if you could help we would really appreciate it. Vet bills, phone bills, and supplies are all very expensive and we do everything we can to help place the dogs in new, loving homes!

Therefore we are always very grateful for cash donations. This is the easiest way to help us out. You may make a donation of any amount to BABR via PayPal by clicking the Donate button:

PayPal accepts e-checks and all major credit cards!

Become a Foster Home

So, are you interested in fostering a bouncing boxer baby? If so, here's what you need to know.

Due to the sudden popularity of the Boxer, people are buying them without knowing their traits and needs and then having to give them up when they realize they are not a good match for their family, so BABR is in desperate need of foster homes for all the Boxers we are rescuing. Our current foster homes are at maximum capacity. It is extremely difficult to have to say no to the many desperate calls we receive for dogs that need placement.

We could be saving the lives of many more dogs if we had more people willing to foster these homeless animals.

What does it take to be a foster parent?

Fostering a homeless dog is extremely rewarding and fun. The feeling of knowing that you have saved a life and helped bring back the spirit of an animal is a VERY wonderful feeling.

You might be thinking 'I could never do that, I would want to keep every one of them'. Many foster parents do think this in the beginning. Adoption day is very hard, but all foster parents will tell you that if you do not let them go, where will the next homeless dog stay? It gets easier as you see the many wonderful people that decide to adopt.

What do I get out of fostering?

Other than the rewarding feeling of knowing that you have helped save a life, BABR does provide you the necessities you will need. Dog food, any medication required, kennels (if required), dog bowls, blankets, etc. All dogs are temperament evaluated for your home situation before the dog enters your household. If for ANY reason, a foster dog is not working out for your household, BABR will immediately pull the dog and place them elsewhere. All foster parents are given the opportunity to interview potential adoptees for fostering in their care. All fosters are evaluated by our veterinarian and given flea control before they enter a foster home.

Volunteer Opportunities

Well, as we mentioned, we are always in need of people to volunteer their time, love and homes to provide a temporary foster home for a boxer in need (see above).

And we also are always looking for people to help us transport boxers in need to us.

If you can help with either of these, please e-mail us to !

Our Wish List

Our Wish List consists of things we are in constant need of for our dogs. These are things that you can bring in - like old, clean blankets (or better yet, some new ones!) and some items that could be donated by your company or organization to help us out.

Please look over the list and if there is anything you can help us with, please send us an e-mail to , so we can make arrangements to get them. Thank you so much!

Hey, look, here's a great new way to help us out!! You can donate one of these great Kuranda Dog Beds to us by just clicking below!

Donate a BedWe use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds when we can because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us so another one of our rescues can sleep in comfort, please click here. Thank you so very much!!

Please Note: We are currently in desperate need of a new location. Our current lease ends on July 1st, 2004 and we need to relocate before that date! If you have any information on a new location that may be available to us, please let us know! And if you are in Real Estate or know someone who is, any help you could offer us in locating a new kennel for our rescue would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
